I mean, it’s not like people in government service have ever misused centralized files, right?
With 300+ hacks into the Registry and over 100+ unsolved? Who knows what else someone might be “shopping” for?
Tell your MP to vote “yes” on Bill C-301.
Kill the Registry.
There are people that have probably been rendered unsafe because it exists. For a time, until I got rid of a particular firearm, I could be traced and that opened my family to the danger of a criminal attack. It’s not my ownership that was the problem. It was the existance of the Registry itself that increased the likelihood. Even the Ottawa Citizen publishing of the “sanitized” version further contributed.
If your MP balks? Ask them if they want to be held responsible if it is ever found that the breaches of the Registry can be traced to a crime.
