Safety, experience, fun.
Canada’s shooting sports.
A cultural heritage activity for all ages and genders.
A well done to East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association and the CP Reporter for covering the story and even trying her hand at the variety of firearms that Canadians own, use and possess for responsible purposes.
She’s missing a lot more in the way of IDPA, IPSC, SASS/Cowboy Action though. Alas, that’s the beauty of firearms ownership. If a person doesn’t want to have or use one? They don’t have to. It’s a matter of free choice on the part of an individual.
Edit: I stopped in as well for a couple of hours on Saturday. Not for a “story” though.
One last poke with the .50. Chipping in the barrel and seeing the “GEEWHIZ! THAT’S AWESOME FUN!” look on people’s faces was well worth the donation. You have to try it to understand the excitement it generates. Everyone should have the experience, even just once, to say they did it.
Heh. I recall one woman one year declare “That’s better than sex!” LOL
