Police arrest man after bomb threat at PM’s residence
A Quebec man is in custody after he allegedly phoned in a bomb threat to the prime minister’s official residence in Ottawa early Monday.
Police searched 24 Sussex Dr. after an anonymous caller claimed there was a bomb inside Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s residence at about 1:30 a.m.
Investigators found nothing inside the home and ruled out any threat to Harper, his family or the public, but they traced the phone call to an apartment in Gatineau, Que.
The RCMP identified a 35-year-old man as a suspect, surrounded the building and made contact with the man, who refused to exit. At one point the man tossed an object at police, but he was eventually taken into custody.
Police don’t believe there is any threat to the public because the man doesn’t have any registered guns and isn’t known for bomb-making or bomb threats.
However, the man is known to police.
Members of the RCMP continue to investigate the bomb threat, but the man is facing charges of assault and uttering threats in relation to the apartment stand-off.

I guess we’re back to urinalism with innuendo and discriminatory remarks.
Subliminally implanting the idea in the mind of their readers/viewers by not vetting/editing a story is a pretty shoddy practice. It has no place in reporting the facts and is a convienient get around concerning the issue of reporting “fake news”.
What’s wrong with these quotes below anyway?
“Police arrest man after bomb threat at PM’s residence“
“Police don’t believe there is any threat to the public because the man doesn’t have any registered guns and isn’t known for bomb-making or bomb threats.”
1) The man is known and definately known now.
2) What does registered firearms or unregistered firearms have to do with anything in this situation? They weren’t even a part of a BOMB THREAT. Not a GUN THREAT. A BOMB THREAT. No firearms reportedly involved in any manner. Not even a mention of an Inuit soapstone carving…
Why even bring it up, or phrase it that way? Unless someone wants to create a connection in people’s minds about firearms and someone having a mental moment or is just a really poor urinalist with an equally poor editor for either not catching the matteror permitting it.
I don’t know. Until someone steps up and says “we made an oopsie there” it could be anything.
I’m glad it was nothing and that the PM and his family are safe.
I’m left wondering how much vodka was in the kool-aid that “
journalist” junior propagandist was drinking.
